Nintendo has officially released version 3.0 of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, introducing a host of new features, improvements, and—most excitingly—four brand-new villagers. The update arrives alongside the announcement of Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which brings enhanced visuals, quality-of-life upgrades, and an all-new hotel resort operated by Kapp’n’s family, complete with exclusive themed acnh items.
Among the standout additions are the four new villagers who can now be invited to live on your island. As shown in the update trailer, these characters can move in once players use compatible amiibo to recruit them.
The newcomers are Mineru, Tulin, Cece, and Viché—each drawing inspiration from iconic Nintendo franchises. Mineru sports a look reminiscent of Midna from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, while Cece and Viché channel the vibrant aesthetic of Splatoon 3’s Splatsville, complete with signature Inkling-style eye shadow.
Nintendo has also shared a list of compatible amiibo figures from The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon series, detailing which ones can summon each of the new villagers into Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
